Glenesk - Loch Lee - Shank of Inchgrundle Download PDF Guide
Description: This walk starting at Invermark at the head of Glenesk, follows the River North Esk briefly to its source, Loch Lee, where a good track follows the lochside and then the river to the Falls of Unich, a spectacular single drop from the end of a gorge to the valley floor. From the falls a path leads up through the gorge, offering good views down the gorge and to the surrounding hills and to the Falls of Damff. A short climb following a small burn to the north of Cairn Lick leads to a great view of Loch Lee and of Carlochy of Lee, until this point a hidden corrie loch. The route returns via a track down the Shank of Inchgrundle to retrace the route along Loch Lee and back to the car park.
