In the surrounding area there are excellent fishing, shooting and hill walking locations (including the Brown & White Caterthuns). Edzell itself offers a local museum, pony trekking and some beautiful countryside to explore, including Royal Deeside, a breathtaking drive away over the Cairn O'Mount.
